Task Force Welcomes New Members

One new and one returning member joined the National Task Force on Prevention and Treatment of Obesity in February. New to the Task Force is Charles J. Billington, M.D., director of the Special Diagnostic and Treatment Unit at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, professor of medicine at the University of Minnesota, and associate director of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Minnesota Obesity/ Nutrition Research Center (ONRC).

Rejoining the Task Force is Rena R. Wing, Ph.D., professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University; professor of psychiatry, psychology, and epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic; and director of the NIDDK University of Pittsburgh ONRC.

Rotating off the Task Force are James O. Hill, Ph.D., associate director of the Research Center for Human Nutrition and director of the NIDDK Clinical Nutrition Research Unit at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center; and Barbara Rolls, Ph.D., professor and Guthrie chair-in-nutrition at Pennsylvania State University.
